No assessment of climate change risks and opportunities for the Edinburgh and South East Scotland city region currently exists. As such, Sniffer and the local authority partners have developed a bespoke methodology for the Climate Ready South East Scotland programme. This methodology emphasises the partners’ desires to prioritise climate justice and delivery of a just transition; and builds on Sniffer’s experience with other regional climate risk and opportunity assessments such as Climate Ready Clyde and Highland Adapts. At the heart of the methodology is the consideration of both formal evidence of risk, opportunities, impacts and adaptation actions within the region, and also lived experience from individuals, businesses and communities of how they are being impacted, and how they would like their place to adapt.
